Britney Jean Spears
Britney Jean Spears was born December 2 1981 in McComb, Mississippi & raised in Kentwood, Louisiana. Britney was an avid dancer in her youth and won many competitions in gymnastics. But, most of all, Britney loved to sing. When she was just eight, Britney was a contestant in The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989), but was denied because of her age. The show then redirected her to an off-Broadway production, "Ruthless", for a 2-year run as the main character. When she was 11 she was back in the running for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989) and was this time able to make it as a mouseketeer alongside several stars of the day (Justin Timberlake as well as JC Chasez of *NSYNC , and Ryan Gosling). Her breakthrough however, came when she was signed as an artist with Jive Records in the latter part of the 90s. Britney was a huge hit after the release of her debut album "...Baby one more time" in 1999. The album sold over 13 million copies (as of July 2001) of her second album "Oops !...I did it Again" that was released in May 2000. Britney was the daughter of Lynne Spears and Jamie Spears. She has one of her brothers Bryan Spears and a little sister Jamie Lynn Spears. From the time she was a kid, Britney was always fixing to become a famous singer with her idols, including Madonna, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, the young Britney was always singing, regardless of what was happening in the world around her. Britney auditioned for The All New Mickey Mouse Club (1989-1994) on television when she was 8. But she was too young to play the role. Britney relocated to New York with her mother and the baby sibling. She appeared in a variety of TV ads and was an understudy for Natalie Portman in "Ruthless" off-Broadway. After a few years her love for dancing and music began to take over. She auditioned for a second time to be a part of "Mickey Mouse" and was chosen along with Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, and Justin Timberlake.
