Rachel Anne McAdams
Rachel Anne McAdams was born on the 17th
of November 1978 in London, Ontario, Canada, to Sandra Kay (Gale), Nurse, and
Lance Frederick McAdams who is a truck driver and furniture mover. Rachel is
English, Welsh and Irish-born. Rachel began acting at thirteen. Already, she
was performing in Shakespearean productions at summer theater camps. Rachel
graduated with honors from York University with a BFA in Theater. After her
role in Disney's The Famous Jett Jackson episode (1998) She starred in Slings and
Arrows, a Canadian comedy-drama that chronicles the struggles and triumphs of a
Shakespearean theatre group. In 2003, she was awarded an award called a Gemini
award. Her performance as Regina George, in Mean Girls (2004) instantly earned
her the attention of the list of Hollywood's most sought-after young actresses.
After that she was cast alongside Ryan Gosling as the romantic drama adaptation
of Nicholas Sparks' bestseller The Notebook (2004). The Notebook was a hugely
successful film at the box office and quickly became the most watched romantic
drama for an audience of young people. After filming, McAdams and Gosling
became engaged and started dating until the middle of 2007. McAdams next
showcased her versatility on the screen with the comedy Wedding Crashers
(2005), the action thriller Red Eye (2005), and the holiday-themed drama The
Family Stone (2005).McAdams then began exploring the world of independent
cinema with Married Life (2007), which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival
and also featured Pierce Brosnan, Chris Cooper and Patricia Clarkson. McAdams
was seen in The Lucky Ones (2007) and State of Play (2008) in State of Play
(2008) and The Lucky Ones (2007), respectively. She also starred in The Time
Traveler's Wife(2009) and Robert Downey Jr. in Guy Ritchie's global hit
Sherlock Holmes (2009). McAdams was the determined producer of Morning Glory
(2010). She also played the materialistic fiancee Owen Wilson in Woody Allen’s
Midnight in Paris (2011). McAdams returned to romantic drama territory with The
Vow (2012), which she starred opposite Channing Tatum. McAdams is also a part
of Terrence Malick in To the Wonder (2012) as well as Noomi Rapace is Passion
(2012) in Brian De Palma's thriller.
